Superbooth NAMM 2003?

Superbooth NAMM 2003?

2002-04-04 by Robair, Gino

Okay, here's a new topic:

A few of you have probably heard about the Frankfurt Musikmesse Superbooth
(a couple of you were there!). The co-op booth included a number of analog
synth/processor companies (Big Briar, Analogue Solutions; Technosaurus,
Doepfer, Vermona, to name a few...), and it was a great place to meet other
analog-gear enthusiasts. No to mention a unique chance to hear and play with
all this wonderful stuff (like Doepfer TKB or the monstrous Technosaurus
rig).

There has been some talk about having a similar booth at the Winter 2003
NAMM show in Anaheim. My hope is that Wiard could be represented if such a
booth were to happen. This year in Anaheim, there was a bit of a synth alley
that included Big Briar, next to the Hartmann Neuron, next to the shared
space of Synthesis Technology/MOTM & Encore Electronics: I kept finding
myself pulled toward this area, especially after a day of hearing guitarists
go wheedly wheedly...

Just a thought.

I spoke with Andreas at Messe about the possibility
of space to represent the smaller US modular folks,
specifically Wiard. It didn't go further than my
bringing it up but I'm sure that if Grant is
interested, conversations could be had.

Superbooth more than made up for the extremely
disappointing NAMM show, both in terms of the
excellent instruments and the fine people who
make them. What a great, supportive community.
I hope to be at Superbooth NAMM 2003...
