We did it again:

This time around, instead of playing some composed pieces, we winged
the entire set. I had a pair of sequence patterns pre-prepared in the
Wiard/Blacet box:

1(bassline): Sequantiser - W.City - Omni filter - Blacet Quad VCA
2(topline): binary zone - quantiser (minor chord) - final filtre - VCA

I set them up a couple of nights before the concert, and once the box
had warmed up, I didn't have to tweak anything! VCOs came str8 up to
pitch, proof of an amazingly great design. I triggered the sequences
from my old Korg DDD1 12-bit drum box - the trigger spike it puts out
(programmable from one of the drum pads) is very short, so the AR
envelopes at the bottom of the waveform city modules were in effect
like ADs in use. I programmed a song w/about 4 minutes of silence
w/just the triggers, then a building up type set of patterns
programmed in. I used the bass tabla sounds from the DDD-series
"india 1" card to accentuate "the one" w/a deep "ba-whoomp" type of
thing. Cranked up through the PA it sounded awesome.

I had 2 other patches planned:
My favourite random noises type sound - Wogglebug out - borg filter -
vca (via echo) / filter cutoff controlled by EG1 / EG1 triggered by
wogglebug clock / EG1 set to snappy attack/decay, decay controlled by
any CV out from wogglebug. Wogglebug clock speed ins controlled by
CVout of other half of w.bug

Bass drone - Both VCOs in Borg Filter - boogie filter in - output /
Boogie filter in cutoff controlled by i/joystick for fade in/out
ii/smooth CV out of wogglebug for slow random filter sweep.

We got stuck in traffic though, got to the venue late, and I didn't
have time to patch these up. Bummer, but there's always another time.

It was an absolute blast, and it was really thrilling to hear the
power of the wiard box cranked up nice & loud. I don't often get a
chance to do that.

the gig organiser recorded it, so I should have some clips up on
"myspace" pretty soon. (the guy sent me an unlabelled CD-r of last
year's gig, which I lost, of course)
