300 Series Boogie Filter Pair

300 Series Boogie Filter Pair

2006-04-12 by Gary Chang

hi there,

I have just posted a foto of my 300 Series Boogie filter pair.

Soon to come - the Borg2 300 series module.

(These are the existing 1200 series modules behind a 300 Series
faceplate).

Thanks, Chris.

It was a pretty simple task - I just ordered the panel from Front
Panel Designer... The faceplate graphic was assembled by Grant, so I
am sure that he would be obliged to offer this option to anyone else
at this point.

Converting these modules to 300 Series physically puts them on a
different power supply, and shortens patch cord lengths considerably.
It also makes room for more 1200 series modules in my console.

The Boogie LP/HP pair was originally a 300 series design - I really
think that this is the best Wiard filter, too. I love the Borg2 also,
but it is too good as a LP gate - they are my fulltime VCAs at this point.

Gary,

do you find that the Front Panel Express panel matches well with the
original panels? If so... Grant does that mean you'll replug in the
life support system on the 300?

What the Moog 904 pair could have been, quieter, cleaner, 20 octave range instead of 3
octaves needing a range switch, 8 outputs instead of 2. Reliable.

We are but midgets standing on the shoulders of giants. God Bless Dr. Moog in heaven.
What a difference 40 years of learning makes.

Mark,

The FPExpress panels matches the old 300 panels in thickness
perfectly, and the blue isn't any different than the variations of
blue found on the various existing generations of 300 Series front
panels. As you can see by the foto, the artwork was lifted directly
from the old panel artwork.

What this really means is that anyone can do whatever they want
regarding the final packaging - I like the compactness of the 300
Series, so this is what I am doing....
