mini wiard boogie LPF review

hi all, here's a mini review i wrote about the wiard boogie LP filter, and posted to the soundarc forum: i have a wiard boogie low pass filter and it's awesome: plus - build and finish quality is incredibly good. - it has a very pristine and clear/clean sound. - it can be used as a low pass gate (12db or 6 db out, cutoff fully down and cv in maxed). - you can feed the different db outs back into itself for crazy modulations, or mix them externally! - it accepts audio rate inputs to the cv in like nothing i've ever heard before, rippling, bubbling analogue fm like tones. some of my other filters crap out and distort when you try to do this, but this one just screams ;) - the 6db mode is quite rare in modular filters, and it sounds fantastic - makes a great eq/tone control. minus - no voltage control of resonance, this is a real shame, but could be externally patched i guess. - you might be dissapointed with the sound character if you are expecting moog or korg flavours of filter saturation. as i said, it's an incredibly clean sounding filter. best wishes, gregg.
