The pleasure of using it is very slowly relieving the giant headache that it took to make it! Grant's circuits deserve such an enclosure, of course.... gary --- In wiardgroup@yahoogroups.com, Ingo Zobel <synaptic_music@y...> wrote: > > hello gary, > > man, that console is looking awesome. > must be a total pleasure using it. > > best wishes > > ingo > > > > --- Gary Chang <gchang@c...> schrieb: > > > > > > The blue console is done (again), so I am posting in the photo > > section > > a shot of the completed system, less a few modules.... > > > > (foto is named "gchang's Wiard 2005" > > > > > > gary > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------ Yahoo! Gary: A wonderful system! I would wonder what kind of patches you do with such a big Wiard-Setup. I have 11 Wiard 300 modules and almost everything can be done. Do you patch more than one patches parallel or do you try to modulate "everything" (and control it with 2 JAG's). For example: If you patch 2 JAG's and many VCA's (heard you use the Blacet lin-VCA's for your JAGs), then a patch is getting really big. Lots of wires... I would love to see a photo of your System with the two JAG's in the patch. From time to time, I just use 1 VCO (or two), 1 Omni and one half of the Mixolator: I think the Wiard also shines on those very simple useful sounds. Obviously the Wiard is one of the most flexible synths in history, but the basic sound character of the VCO/F/A's did not suffer from this at all. --- In wiardgroup@yahoogroups.com, "Gary Chang" <gchang@c...> wrote: > > The blue console is done (again), so I am posting in the photo section

And on that subject, did the URL of the EM interview with Gary ever
get posted here? I know it was mentioned when the magazine came
out, but I don't remember seeing the URL, so I apologize if it
already has been ...

Olivier, Many of the 2 Jag patches that I use presently are mirror twin patches that each of the matching sets of submodules (vco pairs, filter group, modulation sets, panning) are cross faded between via woggles, sequencers and LFOs. Other 2 JAG patches involve the idea of creating a 5.1 VCF, using 5 Borgs. The 2nd JAG controls location in the patch. What is not really obvious in my system is that it has 36 VCAs! This makes controlling all of the parameters of a patch dynamically a reality. Elements of randomness can easily be introduced to constantly vary normally static elements. Gary
