I had the same experiience as Doug: I met John at the Hayward AHNW, and enjoyed his enthusiasm and sense of humor (which email never really displays well). I was really looking foward to teasing him about the recent storm of email on this list at the next AH. His sudden and early departure from the planet is very tragic, and I certainly will miss his energy on the various lists. It propose we dedicate the next AHNW (Bay Area) to him, whenever we get one going.
Best regards,
