What are you doing with your JAGs?

Hi all,

What are you doing with your JAGs? Mine arrived on Saturday, and a
fantatsic looking thing it is too, plugged in or not!

I have only spent a couple of hours with it so far, but like the
Noise Ring, it has created multiple threads of patch possibility
within my brain, and is looking like another VERY deep module.

I have used it in a couple of simple patches, it works great if you
feed it the Joystick X and Y, and use the Edge or Dome output to
control stuff (e.g. PWM, Filter Cutoff etc). I also got quite complex
with it a couple of times, and had it feeding back with the Noise
Ring's ins and outs.

There was previous talk of using it to process audio, any other ideas
about this?

Take care,

Gregg.

Hi,

In conjunction with my PSIM-1 (running a quadrature osc program) I've used
the JAG to do automated quad panning (the JAG outputs 2,4,6,8 are fed to
two of the Blacet dual linear VCAs). Of course you can use a joystick to drive
the JAG (instead of the PSIM) to do manual quad panning. The JAG gives very
good visual ques as to the sound "location".

I've also experimented with controlling as many different parameters as I can
in a patch with a single joystick - the JAG is great fun.

i used the jag to control the amplitudes of
several vocoder bands (doepfer a129) with
two lfo's. nice frequency animations :-)

best wishes
