Noise Ring Patches (was: Re: envelator...)

Hi Woody,

Nice Demos!

I about blew my ears with the first one - had the
volume up too high!

I have been using mine for both modulation and a sound
source as well. I like to run the Main output and the
Aux output each into a seperate DSC VCO input (for
pitch) and then run the clock output into a multiple
and split it into the trigger of each DSC... Voila! 2
different quasi aleatoric melodies! My modular is very
small at present, so I don't have any dedicated
Oscillators - but I shudder to think of what one could
do with the NR and some real oscillators...

I will try to make a .mp3 and put it in the files
later today.

Best,

Nick

Thanks. I'm glad you liked them.

Sorry about your ears. Those levels *are* pretty hot.

After 25 years I've finally started to assemble the modular of my
dreams. I think it will be worth the wait, though. There are more
modular manufacturers with more interesting modules than there ever
were in the 70s. They all have great modules that I want to add to my
system.

You should definitely consider the Blacet VCOs. Grant had a hand in
their design, if I'm not mistaken, so there is some Wiardness in them.
Lots of features, very stable and precise, and they sound great, too.

I look forward to hearing it.
