Re: [wiardgroup] Which module first.

2002-05-23 by mark verbos

hi Dustin,

Although all Wiard modules have tricks up their sleeves, the most far
out are the Waveform City and the monomorphic Filter. The Waveform City
does more with wavetable lookups than any other analog module ever did,
and as a result is a huge part of the Wiard sound.

the Filter also goes further than anyone else ever tried to. The fading
between modes is a really powerful feature and almost everything else
anyone ever did with a 4 pole filter is in there as well. A real
powerhouse.

However, these 2 are also the most expensive modules. they are the most
densly packed with circuitry as well.

If you want to start with something a little cheaper, I wholeheartedly
suggest the Borg filter. It includes 2 VCOs that are stable enough to be
used as main VCOs if that's your desire and the truely awesome Vactrol
filters. All for less than either of the 2 modules above.

sadly, you are gonna have plenty of time to dream about it since the
waiting list is now quite long.
