Thought I would post this as an example of some work using the Wiard modules.
“Through the gates” is almost entirely Wiard 300 series, with a Wiard 1200 module (Noisering) and some choir samples.
It’s taken an age to complete this. I came up with the idea of seeing just how much ground the Wiard 300 series could cover and marrying that with a vaguely HP Lovecraftian/ old school sci fi theme.
A major part was a fast sequencer workout, sort of Berlin style. While the Wiard easily met the challenge, I finally decided that the part I’d worked on and off for weeks (always a bad sign) wasn’t up to standard and I didn’t feel like starting again. So away it went.
At that point I reflected that the 2 min intro did not fit exactly either. I had attempted to use slightly brighter tone colours than I usually do and the mood wasn’t very serious, with the result is does not really gel with the rest. So that’s now split off also (but will probably resurface as an abstract piece). What remains is probably less than half of the original, but I feel more at ease with it. It was after all more about the journey than the final destination, and I learnt a fair amount on the way.
I can’t now remember what exactly was used in this, there are some obvious wogglebug elements, various slow envelopes with the envelator (for example for the slow build up section), the vortrax wavetable for the drone etc.
