Apparent quiet covers massive build up

2007-09-20 by Grant Richter

Building modules is a lot like cooking.

There is a large amount of "prep" work that needs to be done in order to get ready for final
assembly. This is most economical when done in parallel. Like making hundred of
potentiometer assemblies at once. Or stuffing dozens of printed circuit boards at once.

That is what is going on right now. Dan Schierl is helping me nights and we are building
up lot's of sub assemblies in preparation for final module assemblies.

This takes as long as it takes. Hurry just cause errors. I am waiting for a new order of jack
bay PCBs, which may hold up some shipments. I changed the thickness on the jack bay
boards to allow more spacing between the board and the connector. Some patch cords
today have longer tips than 8 years ago and there can be a mechanical conflict.

So things may seem quiet right now, but behind the scenes a LOT is going on.

Thank you to all those patient people who don't bug me constantly looking for status up
dates.

The status is: everything is moving forward as fast as possible, yes that means months of
time is needed working every day. Sometimes I try and take a weekend off to remember
what having a life was like.

Thank you again for your continued support and enthusiasm. We aim to please.
