The Buchla 248 is a module that has 16 stages of 2 sliders and 8 bits of switched data on each step. then you have a series of output channels that can independantly address the stages. Among the 8 bits of data are sloped/stepped, 2 trigger outs, voltage and time ranges, quantzed/continuous voltage, external inputs select, sustain/start/end/enable. In the end, you can use any section of the stages as any kind of envelope or sequencer imaginable. in Grant's "MARF MODE" he makes it possible to make a sloped sequence, or multistage envelope out of any sequencer. That's a function that was unique to the 248, envelopes of up to 16 stages in length with any stage being the sustain stage and all slope times and peak voltages controllable. it's the coolest analog module around I think. mark Igor Medeiros wrote: >the new wiard socket rocket has on bank 12 a waveset called `marf >discriminator´. i was reading about the 248 buchla marf also on doepfer >list. > >can anyone describe it? in details, what this module can do? > >and i´m interested in opinions also about the marf discriminator... anyone >heard it? > > >thx in advance > > > > .. .
