The Oct+ and Oct- outputs from the Sequantizer can be used to modulate the Classic VCO in fixed rythmic intervals of half time and double time. Classic VCO in low range (LFO). Patch the Random output of the Classic VCO to the VCA IN1. Patch the quantized output of the Sequantizer to the 1V/Oct input of the Classic VCO. Reset the Sequntizer and set stage 1 to 0. The Sequantizer is not clocked for this example, we are using just the transpose function. Take the VCA output to either the Oct+ or Oct- input of the Sequantizer. Advance the VCA gain, the VCO will start randomly alternating clock pulse with exact half or double time pulses. The probability of the pulse is set by the VCA gain. The input threshold of the Oct+ and Oct- inputs is around 1.5 volts, so not much gain is needed. Another experiment: Route the random output to a Mixolator X input and route the X and Y outputs the Oct+ and Oct- inputs. Another signal can be used to control the Z input. This will produce a mixture of normal, half and double time pulses as the random voltage is panned between Oct+ and Oct-. The clock pulses can be used to trigger an Envelator controlling the Waveform City VCA. The random voltage can be used to control WaveCity pitch and produce a random sequence with fixed rhythmic intervals.
