I am very fortunate in that my studio is only about 8 or 9 blocks from Nova Musik where they have had Wiard systems and other large modulars from time to time. I also count myself very fortunate to have actually been in Grant's lab. All of that aside, I've purchased quite a few modules from different manufacturers over the years without and fear or regret, because on the few occasions that something hasn't turned out to be exactly what I want, I've been able to turn around and sell the stuff at a very small loss (and sometimes a profit!) on lists like the AH list, Blacet mailing list, etc. So... my advice to you is to research the modules you're interested in as best you can, and then take the plunge. Even if you completely hate it when it arrives (highly unlikely with anything from Wiard in my experience!) you can turn around and sell it on AH for 90% of what you paid for it.
