The Beatles were one of my earliest, and still greatest, musical influences. I knew from the day I heard "Revolution 9" that my tastes and interests were very warped. It's worth noting (especially on this list!) that George was the synthesizer player for the Beatles, using his Moog modular to great effect on 'Abbey Road' (the white-noise buildup climaxing "I want you/She's so heavy", underwater noises in "Octopus' Garden", and more conventional keyboard sounds in several other songs). He was also the first "pop" musician to release an album of experimental electronic music, the aptly-title 'Electronic Sounds' on Apple's short-lived "Zapple" imprint. We'll miss you, George ...
