Hi Grant, Great Idea! This would be sort of like the PAiA Gnome keyboard? One thing that worked well for me with the FPGA stuff was to run a guitar string (unwound) across an old Serge touch panel PCB. The guitar string was grounded, each pad had a weak pullup to 5v, and was about 1/4" above the pads normally. Making contact between the string and any pad would then ground the pad and pull the logic line low. This was very simple and cheap, and worked well. This seems better than having to have a stylus in your hand all the time. Some debounce logic would be prudent. I'm looking forward to the MicroWiard.
