I ALWAYS use my modular gear on tv scores.
Unfortunately I've co-written scores with a couple of friends and while I'm
still tweaking the modular sequencer part on my first cue, they've completed
all their work using a variety of Spectrasonics sample discs plus the
aforementioned soft synths and are kicking back with an evening cocktail.
The hard truth is the directors don't really care about the uniqueness of
the sounds.
I guess instruments like Wiard, Modcan, Serge and Buchla give us daily
inspiration, so we soldier on. LOL
