Here’s a page on the Akai CD-ROMs
I’ve installed the Plextor models in mine. One piece of advice though. If you care about sampling audio from the CD drive into the unit, only use the exact model that is in the Akai. I tried other models (and even made the right cables for them), but they can’t be controlled properly from the sampler.
