I purchased a used K2500RS with a similar issue. The tube holding the batteries had cracked and broken near the back panel (entry door). However, the tube was inside, not missing. The K2500RS uses 3 AA batteries (4.5 volts), so you will need to find one with similar capacity). I had to super-glue the broken piece and use new screws to secure it to the back panel. Perhaps with age this plastic becomes brittle and breaks more easily. Not sure why yours was missing - that is strange. I have a Kurzweil K5000R which I knew needed an internal battery when I bought it. It works great but I'm not able to save any disks to RAM. That would be expected, right? Ok. Now, see...I knew this needed and internal battery when I bought it and I figured that eventually I'd just replace the battery when I got around to it. So I got around to it. Supposedly the K2000R takes just AA's! It has a little coin-sized battery door on the back which I removed. There sat a AA battery, but it was sitting kind of wierd and loosely. I tried to shimmy it out and it just fell deeper inside. I got a flashlight and found that there was really no battery compartmnent inside that little door at all! I looked inside and I just saw the raw guts of my K2000: Circuit boards, wires, etc. So what happened to the battery compartment which is supposed to be there to hold the battery? Could or WOULD someone just remove it? Apparently someone tried innocently replacing the batteries not knowoing that the compartment wasn't there, hence the loose AA just sitting in there rolling around. > > Can anyone out there fathom what's going on with this? > Does anyone out there have a K2000R which isn't missing this crucial component? I am able to play it without batteries and it sounds great, but it lacks some memory functions because of it. > > Help, please! 8-] >
