At least on some synths (can't speak for the DX7 but at least on the Casio 
VZ-10M..) it's on by default.  You have to manually turn it off every time 
you want to save a patch.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
