Re: korg 770 breath controller

2006-10-20 by Max Zape

You are correct, sir, my bad. I thought 770 was a type-o for 707 as
you suspected. As for the mysterious mouth controller, I believe it
could be related to the Korg Pepe [MIDI controller] which was created
solely for Josef Zawinul in the 80's---rumor has it that Joe wanted a
MIDI version of his CV breath controller. I suppose if you can get
some schematics/service manual [good luck finding one] of the 770 or
if you feel adventurous with a multimeter, a rudimentary CV
mouth/breath controller can be built. I did find one service manual
at this site:
http://www.ravenware.com/music/korgman/korgman.html

But I was not able to open it---it could have been created with an
older version of Acrobat; perhaps you might have better luck with it.
