Hello All,
And thank you for allowing my presence, I will share what little I know from my experience's within this vast area of the coveted art of synth repair, tricks and tips.
I have a few things needing minor adjustments (I hope), Like:
1. A set of Moog Taurus Pedals that has the following problems:
A: It seems to have a slight tuning discrepancy between the Taurus Setting and when I switch to Variable, it is slight, but noticable to the ear. How do I get the two in tune with each other? I have in the past just accessed one of the Oscilator's and tuned that one to the pitch, but it sounds way to sterile with out the 2nd. A when I use the 2 of them it is out of tune. I have taken it apart and it looks like there a few adjustable items in there (little plastic rotary dials) but till I know what is what, Im not touching anything.
B: There is a rather large difference in the Volume output when I switch from Taurus setting to Variable.
2. I have a Roland D-20 that works fine except no middle A#, I mean it will not sound. I have fixed a number of keyboards with similar problems, but I took a look in there and it looked like a mess-o-stuff that I didn't have time for at that time. Is there an easy way to acess removing the keys and getting to the pads/triggers? I have a Korg Poly-6 and those keys are easy to get off, just hold the front of the key while pressing down the back part where it enter's the body and down it goes and pull out. Speaking of the Poly 6,
3. Korg Poly-6: It lost it's mind. It's got alziemers. It won't store programs, seems like a battery change would have fixed it, but no. I do have the original Dump tape, If anyone needs one, here I am. So is there something else I should be doing? Besided taking it to a professional.. lol. Which I did try and I got burned, he closed shop and I was lucky to get it back.
4. Oh, ands I got a Roland Juno 106: Same problem as the Korg
5. A Sequencial Circuits 6 Track: Same Problem as the Juno 106/Poly6, I know I know... they are old. So how do I update their memory?
Ok Now, what do I have to offer? I have a set of Moog Taurus II pedals with out a brain. It is the 1 1/2 octave set. And I have a ARP Quadra (I thjink that is what it is) for parts only as the idiot that I rescued it from had it sitting out on the backyard, rain and such. I may have some other rare junk, like this Yamaha thing that hooks up to a yamaha printer, a floppy drive and cassete tape deck, all which I have, but I have no idea how to hook up. Needs cleaning bad.
Well, sorry to bother with my woes, How is your day going? :o) Any help will be credited on your account with the Big Guy in the Book of Deeds.
Brian~
