Vintage Synth Repair

The VCA gain (top right) is used to create drone effects. It is a "memory"
that continuously plays the last note pressed at the volume set by this
slider, so you can tweak the filter etc and get drone effects. It is
normally kept all the way down. If you want to use the VCA gain attack and
release controls without the drone, switch the ADSR to AR below the sliders
in the VCF modifiers section (lower right under the high pass filter area).

Turn down the VCA gain slider (all the way) and check your envelope release
isn't too far up.

        I have an Arp Odyssey that I used for the first time in a good 9 
  months and found this previously non-existent problem: whatever I do it 
  will always be playing a note! So if I press a key on the keyboard that 
  pitch will sound but continues to sound after I've released the key. As 
  you can surely tell I'm very new older synths so I'm guessing I could 
  be doing something wrong. I've been setting up patches from the manual 
  but that same thing happens. It won't stop playing a note!
