I have a DW-8000, the action and contacts are
not very robust. The key contacts are not the little rubber cups
arranged in strips, they are metal strips about an inch or so long with two
contact points. I have found cleaning them with alchohol or a good contact
cleaner helps with dead notes but the velocity sensitivity never seems to work
properly on all the keys. I have "Carefully" bent the key contacts so that
they all play properly but this lasts about a week before they are out of whack
again. Between the very loud clacky action and the contact problems I rarely use
this board, although I bought it used and the previous owner may have "hammered"
on it for years wearing it out.
Cheers,
Ron Bell.
