Hi Nick
Welcome
will this be your first synth?
maybe the hardest job is accumulating the components, but if you are
already into tubes you should have a good head start
cheers

Hi Andrew,
Yep this will be my first synth, and I have already bought some tube to start my putting together vco. I figured this stuff will be easier since I'm use to working with big tube and these are little. Just to give you an idea I'm building a tube stereo amp and the output tube is about 10 inches tall and almost 5 inches in diameter. But I do have a monster thyratron that I'm thinking about making a vco out of just for fun, it's 15 inches tall. Since as Eric from Metasonix says you can use any thyratron. The only thing is it will be a space heater as the filament pulls 29 amps.
Should be fun and impractical, which is my middle name when it comes to tube.
