Hi. How bad is the 2000? If front panel is cracked, then, yes, maybe might be time to part it out. But, if case is good, panel good, there's a good possibility that the 2000 can be restored. I think it can be easily restored. I've done restoration projects which are far more complicated than this one. But does it worth the effort ? I have one that is in *BEAUTIFUL* physical shape. Doesn't make any sound (built in... I have no patch disks although the floppy drive seems to format and write fine...) All the lights, buttons, etc are fine. Winecountry has been very unresponsive... Well, if someone really is parting out a P2K, I'd like to get the key switches. Some of mine are "weak". That is, when you load a sample with a high velocity setting, you have to bang on some keys harder than others to get the desired effect. -- Pat At 09:35 AM 5/15/2008, you wrote:

sounds like a contact cleaning for your keys should be in order. I have similar issues...
I also noticed the internal presets between the 2000 and 2002 are different..??

I was ordering a new diskdrive for my P2002 from Winecountry few weeks ago but they told me to get back to make an order may 15th since they where going on an extended holiday. So I guess that's the reason why they haven't been in touch.

The two machines must have different versions in them. If you upgrade, you can save the old presets on a disk first, in case you like any of them. Or you can save the presets on one for play in the other. -- Pat
