I ordered half a dozen TC5514 APL-3 chips from Quest. I hope this chip fixes
it. I couldn't think of any other explanation.

There is only one memory chip, the TC5514.

Success! The new TC5514 is installed and I have 32 working presets. The
other main problem on this Polysix is related to at least a couple of other
threads I've seen people discussing. It used to have major problems with
distortion on voices 5 and 6. After hosing it down with deoxit a couple of
times and doing a lot of detailed cleaning, it is now to the point where the
distortion is just about gone, but these two voices still take a lot longer
than the others to warm up and get in tune. For voice 5, that could be 30
minutes. I don't know why there is so much crud on the 366 board in the area
of IC 35-38, or what it is or why it's so hard to get off, but I intend to
just keep cleaning since it makes a noticable difference every time I get an
area cleaned.

RE: [PolyS ix] P6- a ll program s don't sa ve EG and VCF levels (not prop erly)

2010-04-01 by Paul T

I have one voice (5) that was out of tune for ages, couldn't tune it up as it was beyond what the pots allowed. Swapped chips and it was still voice 5 (so circuitry). However, it's recently started being 'in tune' very quickly and is now only slightly off (and probably could be tuned up properly again using the pots when I get chance). I'll have to look into cleaning it all if that may help.

Try using an old toothbrush with the deoxit to get those troubled areas.
