Discussion about the Korg PolySix synthesizer

Hi there,

My Polysix has recently started to power on with the "To Tape" and
"Error/Cancel" lights on.  I also notice that it will only allow me to use
Manual mode to program sounds.  Is this due to a battery issue or is there
something else wrong with it?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi S,

If your KLM-367 (processor) board has been repaired in the past due 
to a battery leak then it might be worth revisiting the repaired 
tracks around IC32 (74LS08N) to make sure there are no 
disconnections. If all seems to be in order have a look at replacing 
the SRAM chip IC32 which is a 1024x4bit type. The original TC5514APLs 
are a bit thin on the ground, however, you can use an HM6514 which is 
still available if you look around.
