The sound could easily be the P6, and the time is right. It's just that "Final Countdown" is the ultimate 80'ies kitch song. And to think that it was done on a P6 is just too cool. You also mentioned something about "around a bunch of DX7s". What do you mean? Do you mean to say "played in unison" or "backed up by" the DX7? I have my P6 in a two keyboard setup, with a DX7 at the bottom and the P6 at the top. I could have sworn that FM and analog synthesis doesn't go well together, but I have to admit that they really complement each other nicely. No, I don't have any "FM Rhodes" sounds in my DX7. I hate that sound. I have built a number of brass and ensemble sounds on the DX7 with some analog character to them. Played in unison with the P6 the sound gets even fatter than the P6 is already.
