Mellotronworks Extras

2009-08-01 by Mike Dickson

A brief mention of the mellotronworks extra tracks I uploaded to my site previously.

I've revisited both 'Nimrod' and (in particular) 'Hallelujah' and have brightened them up a bit and added a few overdubs hither and yon. The Handel is now choirs-a-go-go and has been beefed up using a deeply detuned Church Organ as a bass backing that fairly throbs underneath the hullabaloo, and I've edited out a couple of 'Mellotron Artefacts' (ie, tape zips and some earth hum on one string voice) that was bothering me.

Hope you enjoy them!

The Handel is absolutely amazing! It sounds wonderful. I had never thought that the mellotron really lent itself to baroque music, the percussive playing really suits the work, this is going onto the ipod!

Thanks
