I had an Echoplex from the '60s that I used for my entire time with Devotion for the mellotron. Sadly, it disappeared with several other pieces of my equipment when the band broke up. When I had my FX Console rebuilt by Streetly and Jim Krueger, I spent the cash to buy one of the new Echoplexes (http://www.superpage.com/riffs/desc_maestro_echoplex.html). It was expensive, about $1200, but as Chris said, it sounds fabulous. My feeling is that a SpaceEcho, if it can be got for less, would be equally as good. The chorus effect can be quite good, but if you have to pay the big bucks for a tape delay, an Echoplex is the way to go. Making new tapes is a snap if you have a bit of skill with a razor blade, a splicing block (if you can find one of those!) and splicing tape. Rick
