Hi Bruce! I have no idea when the multi turn pot was added. The PML-1 was part of the Sound Sales "upgrade. Prior to that it had the WME 289 & WME 290 pre amp and line amp cards in it. When I got it, it had a SMS-2 but that card looked like it has been scorched and I wasn't happy with it so I replaced it with the SMS-5 which is a direct swap. As for CMC-10 cards, I just toss them. Thank God for spare parts, ehh? I hope it does well on eBay. It's a really nice sounding machine. In a message dated 6/26/2009 10:57:47 A.M. Was the PML-1 single-board preamp used in the early machines? I noted with interest the multi-turn pot used on the pitch control. We have seen other examples of this mod. I am guessing it was added before the Sound Sales travesty, in an attempt to even-up the pitch instabilities of the original CMC-10 (which, of course, would NEVER be a solution). Do you ceremoniously burn old CMC-10's on a pyre en masse? Wishing you well, and best of luck on the auction of this unit! -Bruce Daily #1221 --- On Wed, 6/24/09, lsf5275@aol.Wed, 6/24/09, <lsf5275@aol.lsf> wrote: From: lsf5275@aol.From<lsf5275@aol.lsf> Subject: [newmellotrongroup] Re: The Black Mellotron To: newmellotrongroup@To: To: Date: Wednesday, June 24, 2009, 4:14 PM I put it on eBay.
