Well....that certainly threw up some interesting discussion.  I have to say here and now that I have very good friends in the US so it is unfortunate that the issue I have with the abandonment of pleasantries in emails is largely concerned with mail from there.  From now on I will save emails that I take issue with and let you have a compilation from time to time.


Now I have to ask you one final thing that is uniquely USA, this time connected with HAND WRITTEN correspondence; why do many people use upper and lower case letters jumbled up within a word and why is a capital I dotted?  Don't take me to task over this - I just wondered.

Yeah, I believe that's true. When ordering or inquiring from companies
online it us hard to imagine who or what you are actually dealing with.
Many people may believe they are dealing with some automaton.
