Hi gentlemen! (And I know... be careful who you call "gentlemen!")
First off... Mark - a gorgeous sound! Wow! I played that a bunch of times just to absorb it! S'what Mellotrons are all about! That, and on the other side of the same coin, the quiet, super-dry, kinda spooky sound that King Crimson used often enough. Delicious... all.
Now please forgive my ignorance, but I'm a bit confused in reference to your #1565. A bit newer than my #1485, I guess, but does it have 2 outputs, and a possible 2 volume pedals? How dat werks? Is it an upgrade, a home-grown modification, or just the way 400s were produced once mine was out of the oven? I've never seen or heard of dual outs before, anywhere.
Once again, Mark - what an AWESOME sound. I'm not sure th original sound you're trying to replicate, but whatever you did - you did GREAT, man!
Cheers to all!

RE: [newmellotrongroup] Slightly Off topic - What's this song?

2010-10-01 by Ms. Janet Strauss

So, no Mellotron ….but there is a viola.

I’m only asking since I figured you guys know music - and I just can’t abide by the claim it is Guns and Roses…the lead vocal doesn’t like a

squirmy caterwolling punk.

Thanks for the kind comments Berrington, #1565 has one output and one volume pedal, CM10 controller, new tape rack, it's a Streetly machine and has not been modified. The ouput was fed through a lot of computer software including a stero enhancer module for a fake stereo effect to get the sound, which I am very happy with. I am going to put the original tape rack back in today and see what I can do with the Mark II 3 violins.
