I'd rather something that drips spit on my crotch, like real sex.

What fingering does one use to play it? Didn't you use one of these in an oboe piece you posted a few years back?

Good demo of the Yamaha wind synth. It drips spit on your knees just like a real sax.

The VL70 has about 250 voices. Sax, trumpet, clarinet, french horn, bass guitar and some of the synth voices are very good. The flutes and strings mostly suck!

The WX5 has four options for fingering. Flute or three types of Sax. My WX5 is set for Flute fingering and I've never tried the Sax settings. Hitting the right notes is enough of a challenge without moving them around.

For the most part, flute and sax fingerings are the same, that's why sax players jump on doubling on flute, and sound terrible because while the fingerings are close, the way you produce the sound is very different -- and rather more difficult on flute. Flip on one of the sax settings and you'll see what I mean. For more detailed info, get in touch with me directly.

You are right of course. The WX5 "Flute Fingering Mode" has more to do with lips than fingers. In Flute mode, the pitch jumps up one octave when lip pressure is applied simulating the "overblow" octave shift on an acoustic flute. Once you are familiar with that lip pressure octave shift, it works nicely with whatever voice you are using. (Trumpet for example).

So does the Casio DH-100, but in combination with a Creamware Mini-Max can sound way better - in my oh-so-humble opinion: www.myspace.com/jimab (click the "videos" button in the player)

Pah! I've got 256 presets (half of them user-storage) on the Mini-Max, plus lots o' knobs to twiddle. Yeah, since the VL70 is likely MIDI it could also do some neat stuff, but I got the DH-100 free, and it's more than adequate for my needs.

I've got a string patch copied from my original Mini-Moog that sounds pretty nice (to me), but not quite 'tron-like unfortunately. I'm working on it.
