I saw a brilliant show by Jonsi from Sigur Ros. Wonderful young musicians, deft use of old and new technology. One guy was playing electric bass and Tenori On (or Monome).

At the climax of the show there was a harmonized vocal thing initiated by what appeared to be a white, outsized Mellotron that required more attention between songs that the average 400.

Is Jonsi using a M4000 during this tour ? Whatever he is using it sounds great.

If he is coming your way it is is well worth your time to go.

Jonsi's concert in Berkeley was maybe the best concert I've ever seen. It was just unbelievable. And yep, he had a mellotron. I got to see him a second time, when he played a free short acoustic set at Amoeba music. I asked him about the mellotron and said it was an amazing instrument that he'll certainly use on more recordings in the future.
