Guess The Mellotron

2010-01-13 by doctorwho8@aol.com

Right, time to some fun detective work. On Perez Hilton, he made a post about a German-Nigerian female artist who caught his eye named Nneka. The song he plays on his post has Mellotron 2 violins in the chours and perhaps a slingle note drone of what sounds to me alike one of the M300 string sounds. I know it'd be easy to ask they lady on her myspace page when the Tron comes from, but I'd figure it'd be more fun to throw it out there to see what you all think. Is it sample Mellotron (MTron or Memotron)? Is it a real Mellotron? Or is it sampled from an existing song that has predominant Mellotron in it? I'm leaning towards the third, but it could be the first.
Here's the Perez Hilton post:

And here is Nneka's myspace.

The reason this got my attention as my wife listened to it on the computer and my ears perked when I heard the Mellotron.

Are you listening to the song "Heartbeat"? The others on her myspace don't have Mellotron as far as I can tell. But it's definately there in the chorus.
