Ike Turner

Ike Turner

2007-12-12 by john barrick

I just heard that the king of the bitch slap, Ike Turner, passed away
today at the age of 76. No matter what one thinks of the way he treated
Tina, there's no denying that their music was a forced to be reckoned with.

Here's one of my favorite clips from the TNT show:

Don't ask me why David McCallum appears at the end...

It has always slightly bothered me that a true rock and roll pioneer
will be forever remembered as being the person who allegedly beat his
wife, despite there being little evidence to back the fact up.

It's been the same with Phil Specter. Admittedly,
he's bananas and always has been, but the Wall of
Sound, people, c'mon....brilliant!
