I had the high bid on the machine right up to the last second....lost it
by $16... i'm a little heartbroken, but at least not swimming in debt!

That's a pisser alright. I have a scheme and have only lost 2 auctions since I switched to it.
Lost one with 7 seconds left!
Just put a high bid that no bodies going to beat.

Yes, I see the wisdom in that.

Well it went for cheaper than the last one, which was
$8000 back in 2002 I think.
The last published price range for these was $6000 - $12000
Does anyone still have the link to this one?

Thanks Bob:
Okay - so this is a very early one - the later ones look a bit different.
It also has the standard Chamberlin tape set.
The Wikipedia entry for Chamberlins is an abomination by the way. Errors galore!

I am willing to add many details, but I'd need Richard to yay or nay it first. Maybe it's best to just keep it simple there, and to put a detailed version on my own web page..

Yes - that is what newspapers, TV and the internet are for....
That is how the good guy governments of the world keep us controlled and safe in bed at night (unless Uncle Cracker is lying next to you -- "fondle me everything is all right")
You were thinking otherwise?

I'm guessing either it's a quote from Uncle Cracker or else Chris has identified an unfulfilled need.

It's a variation of a lyric from Uncle Cracker (who because of that "'follow me"' song, many Canadians believe him to be some kind of pedophile) a local joke to folks here. I have no idea why.
