Hi folks,

I uploaded a track I recently wrote for my company's stock music library.  It has a few rhythmic tickles that might bring a smile to your face.  It is loosely based on the "cut and paste" arrangement style of such artists as The Books and Prefuse 73.  To qualify for posting to the group, sprinkles of tron were added. It's a little dense here and there, but then again, so am I.

enjoy,

fritz

Folks,

I've been entranced with the latest Imogen Heap release "Ellipse"...highly recommended. For those who like thoughtful electronica, bits of strings and other wooden instruments, fun and deep lyrics and don't mind the lack of tron.  She is quite the talent.  Kinda drifts into a bit of the IDM genre here and there, but hey, who hasn't been on the dance floor at least once in their life?

Mike and Tony probably won't like it :>)

She's not afraid to use the technology available. Check out some of the gear she's using:

Kind of like Todd Rundgren with tits.

Thanks Fritz, I checked out her youtube stuff and was quite pleased.  Good stuff.  The video of her appearance on Letterman is very good (she's quite a busker!!)

What are some of you using as a photo editing program?
I don't like Photoshop, so other than that what's the "bomb"?
Corel is good for me, but I like to explore some other options.

There are several YouTube clips at www.matrixsynth. blogspot. com - nothing I'm interested in but an interesting alternative controller.

Tony,

Professionally speaking, Photoshop is the only way to go. Yes, it is a huge program and seems very confusing, but if you have it already, I would suggest learning how to do the things you want to do with it. Just because it's a huge program that does basically anything you could possibly want it to do, doesn't mean that you have to know everything about it.

So if you do have it, you might want to check out the tutorials at lynda.com. They are really terrific and the site has tutorials that cover just about any software you might want to use. Everything is clear and concise and you could learn that bit you need to know about Photoshop, quickly and easily.

Two or three of my "hobbyist" friends say Photoshop Elements is quite good and with a free trial, you could check it out before laying down your cash.

I use Paint Shop Pro v9 (the last JASC version; I hate v10 and 11, the Corel versions). It's about 1/6 the price of Photoshop and does almost everything Photoshop can do.

Yes, I use it, although not under Windows. Their web site
<http://gimp.org/> lists a Windows port that you can download though.

It's pretty powerful and often compared to Photo Shop, although I can't
say because I don't use Photo Shop. It has a somewhat different user
interface. It's been around a long time so it's pretty mature (meaning
not buggy), and still under active development.

Anyway, you can't beat the price.

Maybe but UNIX sure is open source.
And it's windows emulation is good.
With all these computers, I've been thinking about migrating to it on at least a couple of them.
I know of systems that haven't been restarted in 2 years, including hardware upgrates!

Never though you were lazy. I was just thinking that if you had Photoshop, it's easier to learn how to use what you need than going out and buying another program and learning that. The learning curve is the same, regardless of the package.

What makes me sad is that I understand not wanting to be put in a position to have to kill other Muslims... or other Christians, or other Jews or Hindus or pagans... whatever. But the fucker took an OATH!! He wanted his education, but not to pay for it. You have to wonder what they're talking about behind closed doors. This is the second time this has happened with Muslim soldiers. So what do they do, exempt them all from fighting? Toss them out of the service? This is going to happen again.

RE: [newmellotrongroup] off topic

2009-11-10 by Gary Brumm

You have to wonder if they are that committed to doing these terrible things then is it enough to exempt them from the service.

I think they should reclassify the muslums as potentially dangerous cult members…..they seem to prove this is true in many cases.

I am not a racist nor do I have anything against religion but when that religion tells you to strap on a bomb and kill children then

I have no sympathy towards their beliefs.  They are criminals ….nothing more and need to be treated as such.  Sorry, I know this is

not a forum for such discussions but I have friends (living & dead) that have suffered and died from political correctness and this issue not

being dealt with using all of the force and aggression it deserves.  How many other innocent victims of this cult need to die?

Apologies,

Gary

But the fucker took an OATH!! He wanted his education, but not to pay for it. You have to wonder what they're talking about behind closed doors. This is the second time this has happened with Muslim soldiers. So what do they do, exempt them all from fighting? Toss them out of the service? This is going to happen again.

Apology accepted – The problem is, it’s not that a/the religion tells them to bomb/kill – it’s that a certain bunch >think< it tells them that, and another certain bunch use that tendency to political ends. It’s not that Islam doesn’t belong in America</

Since "The Feeling Of Far" took 7 years to complete, I didn't think the next one would take so long. Still one of my favorite albums. Still waiting for the next one.

It's hard to believe that it has been eight years since you released the best CD of 2005. I still love listening to it and it continues to touch me just as it did upon first hearing it. Thanks for putting this up Fritz.
