I think this is the same Henry Dagg of 'In The Cage' and M4000-'Filtron' fame.

It makes sense that a mellotronist would build a mechanical beast like this. Video clips 2 thu 6 are good if you are interested.

We've been watching the progress on this for sometime now. Henry is a
genius in many and varied ways. The scale of this instrument has to be seen
to be believed and the entire frame is made out of short, individually bent
stainless steel pievces which were then welded together and hand ground to
give the continuity. This will be a gem when finished and we're going to
the launch party!

Best,

Martin

I visited Henry when I was on the island a while back.? Lovely guy and out of his mind with brilliant instruments.? The fence surrounding his house is an instrument!!? Had a certain hard drive not crashed and taken all my unarchived personal vids, I would have uploaded some stuff for you..sigh...1.5k to recover memories

The launch party will be something special I'm sure. Can I come?

I'm trying to figure how long a song it will play. The barrel has 11,520 pins. (48 note pins across and 240 pins around). At 120 BPM (party tempo), it would play a 2 minute song with the barrel turning at .5 RPM.

Clay,
Thanks for the link-he's one heck of an inventor.
