off to a good start

I just got home from a bit of a road trip, but boy was it worth it. I drove four hundred miles (round-trip) to go pick up something I have wanted since the early Seventies - I am finally the owner of the T.Rex of combo organs, a Yamaha YC-45D. That's the way to start a new year!

I've heard two things about the pedigree of Yamaha organs. An early one
was used on Bernard Hermann's soundtrack to "The Day the Earth Stood
Still" along with the theremin and early Fender electric bass. The other
thing is that a Yamaha was used on the Star Trek episode "The Empath".
Don't know the model # on either instance but the sounds are fantastic.
What is it with Yamaha and weight? I've lugged around a CS 60 and 70 and
been strained to the limits. Luckily I had some muscle from moving a
Hammond for years, Happy new Year!!

And yet another mystery sound of my youth is identified, and with the accompanying "of course that's what it was" slap to the forehead. Not only were the results of that session on "The Empath," some of that same material is used as source music on a few later episodes. I thought it might be Novachord, but the attack just seemed more aggressive than I've heard from a Novachord. So, what's the mystery board on "The Odd Couple?" And as to mass, I can set up my CS-60 by myself. I can just barely set up the YC-45D by myself, but it's not a smart thing to do. The CS-80 takes a couple of friends and it still isn't easy.
