One of a whole crop of American V8-engined bespoke motors from the
late '60's/early '70's. One of the nicest ones, probably second only
to the Bristol 411. They're very rare.

Anglias look nothing like this.They were 1200cc engined pootle-abouts
with bizarre fins on the back wings and looked like they were built for
the senses-numbed-over-60s rather than speed.

I should know. When I was about six I drove my bike into a parked Anglia
and managed to dent the front offside wing. Quite a feat on a Raleigh
Convertible. The owner - a complete twat, incidentally - told me that it
would cost me five shillings from my pocket money to get that problem
sorted. I genuinely thought that this was the price of a new Ford Anglia.

When I were but a lad, a friend of mine had an Anglia that had had the
engine from a larger Ford car, IIRC a 1600E Cortina transplanted into
it. My memory is that this was a common mod, as it involved no
hacking out of crossmembers or welding, though I may be mixing it up
with the popular Fiat 2litre twin cam into a Morris Minor mod (I am
not making this up). It would do the ton. I can verify this because
I was in the passenger seat once when it did the ton. I have never
been so frightened in a car in my life before or since.

THAT'S IT! Thanks a million Norman, it's really unusual for me to not be
able to ID an automobile. This was in an early 60's fictional film about
racing in Great Britain, and it clearly looked like a high-end vehicle,
which would have fit in with the character's wealth, but the best guess I
could come up with was a Jensen of some sort that I had never seen. And, I
only meant that the angle and setting of the headlights themselves reminded
me of an Anglia, nothing else even hints at it.
