Someone interested in 2 original near mint streetly EMI Tapes for mellotron m400?

2016-09-28 by doktore_mabuse@yahoo.com

I have a chance to offer 2 tape sets for a mellotron (m400 etc)

Almost minty original EMI from the 70s from a Broadcasting station.

First set is 3 brass sounds (will have to re check details but oboe and sax i am sure)

2nd set is 3choirs (i think including the russian one, will recheck aswell)

Need a quick answer as i will have to decide if i take them on top of my m400 purchase.

Each tape set 300,- eur both for 550,- eur

Can ship worldwide

It takes about 2 hours, and can be up to 3 if you're particular about lining up the exact start points.

On older tapes, sometimes they're marked, sometimes not.

The most important thing is if individual used tapes were ever taken out of order when being stored, because then you'll have to figure out which tape goes where and that can take a while.

Hopefully this hasn't happened though.

Yes. That's what Jason's question was about. I've laced a couple of frames, but now that I think about it, both times was with tape on spools. I don't know how difficult it would be to lace previously laced tapes.

I would of course number them when swapping for my new tapes to move inside the frame.

Offer stands 150,- euro + shipping for the brass tapes on 1976 emi from streetly from a broadcasting station so hardly used at all.

On a side note about the comment "most of you have estensive tape collections" how if i may ask? In the form of 2-3 frames and lots of tapes to spool in one of the frames or actually lots of framed tapes? Wich must add up heavily in costs

Hey Bernie. Thanks for the reply. Well yea...but that means a solid financial base and so much worries about that.

The brass is gone, the choir is still available btw

I wonder if i should dare experiment with 1/4" custom tapes but the cost of frames and 2 sounds on a frame speak against it...probably soumd too.

Anyway i have my m400s since yesterday and saying that i am blown way how much this instrument inspires me is an understatement.
The best buy of my life :) together with my van wich costs abaout the same haha

I only have three frames.  More to come in the future.

I would be endless happy with 3 frames but flute viol cello is a very versatile one.
If someone in europe has frames to offer please let me know.

Did someone here experiment with the 6 track frames from streetly?
I wonder how well the sounds can be isolated.
I would like a custom frame with those 5 sounds including 1-2 splits but if its all mashed up in the end it wont work for me
