Branson Soundworks:
Located in Northwest NJ. It is a new company with some VERY old experience in our group. We have a Master electronist/Mellotron player, repairing Mellotrons and B3's since 1976 and also have onboard a master woodworking expert/tube amp electronics tech.
Yes we do realize Jerry K. has been our guru for years with Mellotron knowledge and we most certainly bow down in respect. Jerry is currently I hear in Vermont but may be moving to NJ. More power to both of us. We need new and young blood taking our places.
Please feel free to look up Matthew DiPaolo on Facebook and see what he is accomplishing.

This is a very good thing.  It is very important to pass knowledge and opportunities over to younger people, share with them and then eventually give it all over to them.

This is a good thing because as long as we're alive, Mellotrons aren't going away. But I'm curious about their level of experience. I know that Jerry K honed his skills on his own M400, MkI, M300 and JKMK6 by completely taking them apart down to the last screw and rebuilding and refinishing them from the ground up so they ended up better than new. Also, what is the source of replacement parts?

This can't be a bad thing, especially with both Jerry Korb and Frank Stickle out of the picture for the time being.

Even though he is socially interesting, I like Frank a lot.  I am developing an fx console and I am going to drag him and some of you others into the project over time.
Jerry is a lifer. Somebody asked me about him when I was in Taiwan.

In the Phila area you have Jeff Coulter and Jimmy Moore as useful consultants and the tech at DiPinto Guitars just effected a repair that we were certain was going to require head repairs, it was mechanical and obscure and he figured it out. I don't who he called for help but he did it After I showed him how to turn it on.

I don't think that's permanent, though. Jerry indicated to me that he can do restores after he completes his move, some time next year. I hope Frank gets back into it, too. They both have good parts inventories for the do-it-yourselfers.

I am not likely gone forever, just for now. How long "for now" is, is indeterminate. I miss working on them.

You and Jerry are still great reference points in US Mellotron restorations in addition to Streetly. The newer blood is coming to fruition to help continue all of your works.

From time to time?  Hell, as it is now, I get unsolicited calls at 3:30 AM in a muffled voice suggesting I recheck the alignment on head number 5 and the corresponding tape for "Oxide Deficiency", followed by a CLICK and the dial tone.
