It doesn't seem that Frank is doing restores. He and I both forwarded the query to Jerry Korb, but Jerry is also not doing restores until he completes his move from VT to NJ. That could be a couple of months.

I noticed that the Chicago Piano restoration company was undertaking to repair a torn in very bad shape. Any one anything about this company? looks like they do nice restores on Wurlies and such.

Good to know- they are still a little too far away for me but something to consider. The thing with Frank and Jerry was that they took the machines completely apart..cleaned all the metal and basically did a thorough restoration. My mellotron worked better than it did when i bought it in 1973! That is going to be hard to come close to unless we can send our machines to Streetly. We were lucky we had those guys.

I've worked with them several times.I think they're fantastic. They've done work on my Rhodes and Clavinet, and I've been completely happy with the results. They really know those types of keyboards. And their prices were also quite fair.

I believe they picked up the tron you're referring to partially because they are musicians and wanted to have one around and also because they wanted one to work on one to see what they could do with it. They actually called me to get some specs from my Mk. VI.

So while they are not experienc ed with trons they are interested in learning how to work with them. Based on their skills with other analogue keys, I'm sure they will become at least somewhat competent with them. Just my two cents.
