The original link showed up on Jan 26 at 11:48 PM. I remember seeing it the next morning on the Yahoo website. Are you getting the emailed threads or are you logging onto the website?

It was apparently sold to a museum. Too bad. My highest bid was just 50 pounds under the selling price..

Brian Kehew told me at NAMM this weekend that he sold one of his Mark II's to a museum on the east coast.  I wonder if it's the same one.

I'm sorry, but it just isn't right that a rare Mellotron like the MkII should end up in a museum. It belongs in the home of someone who will use it and appreciate it.

...or in a studio where it could see major usage.

They’re like Ferraris. I see a lot of low milage cars from the 80’s, 90’s to current models.
When the sit the gaskets dry out and you’re looking at tens of thousands of dollars in replacing them to make them drivable.
I buy them to drive, and I do that daily.

“Garage queens” are of no interest to me.
If you want to make some pretty serious money one on, put 2k miles on it and then sell it.
