Novatron 400 SM for Sale
2013-11-08 by marabus
Hi all,
I'm selling my Novatron Model
400 SM/Serial # 1835. This machine is exactly the same as
any other Mellotron except for the name. This machine was
originally built by John Bradley (son of founder Les
Bradley) at Streetly Electronics in the late '70's for the
South African BBC. It was completely rebuilt and
upgraded John just before I purchased it in March of 2004.
The tape set included (Solo Cello, MKII Violins and 8 Voice
Choir) was made new for me as well. This
Novatron (Mellotron) has also been kept in a humidity
controlled, stable, smoke-free environment and has never
traveled since it arrived at my home.
Because I liked the look of the
original Mellotron control panel faceplate (as opposed to
the Novatron faceplate), I asked Martin Smith at Streetly to
swap them out, one for the other when the machine was in for
service.
This machine is in excellent working condition and will provide
years of reliable service. Mellotron/Novatron parts are still
readily available today through Streetly Electronics, should they
ever be needed. Here is your chance to own a unique musical
instrument that has been lovingly maintained.
For pick-up only located in
Central Massachusetts. It is in perfect working condition.
Asking price is $5,000.00. I've put 1 photo up on the groups
web site.
