Nearly off topics 10 best free vst plugins

Well my excuse is it's very quiet in here and No.4 on the list is Redtron, otherwise it's just the usual shameless self promotion I'm afraid.

Hey Mark-
I'm a bit of an ambient sound freak.  So, I really liked the sounds of the Zebralette and Crystal synths.  And Redtron, of course!

I like ambient sounds a lot myself, both of them sound pretty good, I find Cyrstal fun but almost incomprehensible.

Redtron is by along way the best of the free tron vsts in my opinion, I'm eternally grateful to Mike to bringing my attention to it, it sounds better than M-Tron to my ears, and on a bad day better than #1565.

Hi all-
#1221 hasn't been played for a while, until a few days ago.  I had to demo it to my cousin, who had never seen one (and really didn't comprehend it anyway).  I should play it more often.  It wasn't a good or bad day for the old beastie.  Let's just say it had a "squeaky" day.

I foresee new pinch rollers, as soon as some money appears in my pocket.

They don't like to be ignored. Make a point to play it regularly, even if it's only for 15 minutes.

I often turn mine on and let them run, even if I don't plan on playing them. Even that makes a difference. A neglected Tron is an unhappy Tron and it can take a couple of contiguous days of playing to make it come back to life.

Yep, me too.  Mine hasn't been on in 6 or 7 weeks and when I played last weekend, I had a lot of loud keys and quiet key.  Got better the more I played it.

To clarify, if all the components were at optimum performance, you can leave a 'tron for a few weeks and just turn it on and it will sing. That's rarely the case though!

Thanks all-
Completely true, trons don't like to be ignored.  In my case, the rocks (which were pinch rollers) badly need replacement.  Also, a previous owner, for some unknown reason, hacked (literally, with a sharp object) at the nylon sides of the pinch rollers, leaving divots in the plastic.  I have no idea what the intention was in this matter.  Removal of tape debris or (god forbid) oiling?  I just don't know.  Needless to say, many of the pucks don't turn evenly, and most of the roller surfaces are uneven.  I have taken them apart, cleaned the bearing surfaces inside & out, which helps for a while.  Thanks to Dr. Frank for past advice in this matter.  But pinch roller replacement is due, as soon as I can afford it.
