Yes, it was a Vox Continental and a Fender Rhodes piano bass that he used.
He went through several Vox Continental organs.
The one he used on recordings was likely an American version with germanium transistors instead of the other British style ones.
The American Vox has a more brittle sound than the British model or the Italian model, and was made in Sepulveda, California - his own backyard essentially.
The British and American Voxes had wooden keys and one hole for affixing the chrome stand it sat on. The Italian ones had plastic keys and two holes to affix the stand. You can see photos showing this detail.

The italian vox also has a reedier sound, a little closer to a farfisa. He replaced the vox with the Gibson later on.
Looks like the news is directed towards this bout with cancer. I never heard anything and didn't even know he was sick. Sad, he has always been an amazing influence.

I like the sound of the vox as well. I think he is dead though.

He used a Vox Continental and Kalamazoo orgen, not Farfisa. Sorry, also heard yet it is a hoax.

My wife hated the chessy farfisa sound - but I loved the studio work - he was great with that Doors mysterioso sound........
